Turkey Trot 2022 Recap

Surprisingly as long as I’ve been running, I’ve only run a couple Turkey Trots. This year I decided to run the Edmond Turkey Trot here in Oklahoma where we live. I loved this race and performed as well as I could’ve have hoped.

This course was great in my opinion. I love out and back courses and this was a smooth, quick out and back course in downtown Edmond, Oklahoma. The first half was slightly downhill with a big downhill right before the turn around. At the turnaround we immediately went back up the big hill and from there it eventually leveled out for a quick finish.

This race had a 1 mile option and a 5k option. It did not include a t-shirt unless you wanted to pay extra for the t-shirt. There were also no medals at the end. I have run some Turkey trots where they included t-shirts and medals. Every place is different and unique.

Overall I really enjoyed the course and I will run it again when I have the chance.
